<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser device which is capable of generating high-power beams and is excellent in energy efficiency, and a laser processing apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The laser device comprises: a laser oscillator including a total reflection mirror 11, a partial reflection mirror 12, and a Brewster window 13; an acousto-optical element 21 for temporally distributing laser light outputted from the laser oscillator; and a laser amplifier including a window 14, mirrors 15 and 16, and a polarization rotating mirror 17.
