The tampon has a functional layer (1) arranged between an absorbent layer (2) and a covering layer (4), where the functional layer has anti-bacterial properties. The functional layer is helically arranged on the absorbent layer and rolled together with the absorbent layer. The functional layer and the absorbent layer are thermally sealed with each other. The functional layer is made of non-woven material, and enriched with cosmetic active ingredient and zinc or silver ions. The cosmetic active agent is pre-dissolved in a hydrophobic medium e.g. oil such as almond oil, and wax such as beeswax. The cosmetic active agent is selected from a group consisting of aloe vera extract, panthenol, bisabolol, allantoin and chamomilla recutita extract.
