PURPOSE: A host apparatus for performing a security function, an accessory apparatus, and an authentication method and a controlling method thereof are provided to prevent the leakage of personalization data saved in a storage media which is robbed and lost by preventing the normal use of a corresponding apparatus lost by lobbing. CONSTITUTION: A host apparatus(100) can be operated as a display device for displaying 3D images on a screen. An accessory apparatus can be implemented as 3D glasses for watching the 3D images. The host apparatus comprises a communication unit(110), an authentication performing unit(120), and a control unit(130). The communication unit receives authentication information from the accessory apparatus in order to authenticate the accessory device. The authentication performing unit performs authentication for the accessory device by using the authentication information.
