<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head capable of improving thermal efficiency, printing quality, and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal head 1 is adopted including an upper plate substrate 5 formed with a plurality of projections 20 on a surface with intervals; a plurality of heating resistors 7 provided in positions over each projection 20 at the surface of the upper plate substrate 5; and a pair of electrodes provided on both sides of the plurality of heating resistors 7, respectively.
