<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a translucent decorative material A that does not expose a color pattern in the surface side and the appearance of a normal woody decorative material is presented when there is no light from the backside, and when the light is hit from the backside, the color pattern 7 together with a wood grain make a sudden change and appears to the surface clearly and distinctly. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the translucent decorative material A comprising a laminate 11 including: a veneer layer 1 comprising a thin translucent veneer of WPC-treated wood impregnated with resin; a masking layer 5 disposed on the backside of the veneer layer 1; and a translucent color pattern layer 6 on which a color pattern 7 is formed, the color pattern layer being disposed on the backside of the masking layer 5. The masking layer 5 masks the color pattern 7 of the color pattern layer 6 from the surface of the laminate 11 when no light is provided from the backside of the laminate 11, and is translucent to the extent that the color pattern 7 of the color pattern layer 6 is made to appear on the surface of the laminate 11 when the light is provided from the backside of the laminate 11.
