<p>Disclosed herein are chlorosilicate-based phosphors configured to emit yellow-green light in a wavelength ranging from about 500 nm to 560 nm in response to an excitation source emitting at about 400 nm to 480 nm, wherein the light emitted has a decay time ranging from about 1 millisecond to 10 milliseconds. The composition of the phosphor comprises a compound of the family Ca8-x-yAxEUyMgl-m-nBmMnn(Sil-sCs04) 4R2, where A is at least one divalent cation including Ca, Sr, Ba, individually or in combinations, or a combination of + 1 and +3 cations; B is Zn or Cd, or a divalent metal ion other than an alkaline earth, present individually or in combinations; C is a +3, +4, or +5 cation, including at least one ofGe, Al, B, Gd, Ga, and N, individually or in combinations, and R is a -I, -2, -3 anion, including F, CI, Br, I, individually, or in combinations.</p> |
