<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appearance correction method and an appearance correcting device of a tire that can certainly and stably correct by automating the correction in the defective appearance caused to a sidewall of the tire. <P>SOLUTION: A picture of the sidewall of the tire t is taken by a photographing means 13. The appearance failure part caused in the surface of the sidewall is detected by comparing the obtained image data of the sidewall of the tire t with the reference data by an image processing means 14.
