<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting device that can effectively maintain a discharge diameter of a liquid in an opening of a nozzle opening to a predetermined discharge one over a long period of time, reduce viscosity of a thickened liquid in a meniscus part in the opening and can thereby maintain ejection characteristics over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting device includes: a liquid ejecting head including a pressure generating chamber where liquid is filled, a piezoelectric element that deforms by supply of a drive signal and causes the liquid to have a pressure change via an elastic film, and the nozzle opening 21 that ejects the liquid in the pressure generating chamber due to the pressure change; and a controller that supplies the drive signal. The nozzle opening is tapered so that the discharge diameter gradually increases toward the opening 21A of the nozzle opening from the pressure generating chamber. The controller increases capacity of the pressure generating chamber by the deformation of a pressure generating unit, and subsequently, controls the piezoelectric element so as to eject the liquid via the nozzle opening by deforming the pressure generating unit in an opposite direction of a deformation direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
