The invention relates to a rolling bearing (1; 1') with a single-part outer bearing race (3) and a single-part inner bearing race (2) and with rolling bodies (4) arranged in at least one row between the bearing races (2, 3). In this rolling bearing, the end side of the outer bearing race (3) and/or of the inner bearing race (2) has at least one cutout (10) through which the rolling bodies (4) can be placed into the space between the bearing races (2, 3), the cutout (10) can be covered by a reversibly fastenable closure piece (9), and the closure piece (9) forms a rim (11) for guiding the rolling bodies (4). The lateral cutout (10) for filling the rolling bearing (1) with rolling bodies permits cage solutions of segmental or strip design, said cage solutions being larger than a rolling body and therefore being able to accommodate a plurality of rolling bodies. The suitability of the rolling bearing for use at high rotational speeds and the rigidity of said rolling bearing are increased as a result.
