<p>The shock generated when a gap adjusting device is started is inhibited and the ride is improved in an elevator equipped with a rope-type gap adjusting device. This gap adjusting device drives, with an electric motor, a sheave around which an adjustment rope is wound and the gap adjusting device adjusts the gap between an upper car and a lower car. The gap adjusting device is provided with a torque calculating means and a control means. The torque calculating means calculates, on the basis of the load of the upper car and the load of the lower car, a compensating torque for inhibiting start-up shock. The control means applies, in advance to the electric motor, the compensating torque calculated by means of the torque calculating means when the gap adjusting device is start up.</p> |
