PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for eliminating hydrogen sulfide are provided to generate combustible gas from hydrogen sulfide and to prevent the corrosion of an apparatus for eliminating hydrogen sulfide. CONSTITUTION: A method for eliminating hydrogen sulfide includes the following: mixed gas of plasma generating gas and syngas containing hydrogen sulfide is introduced into a hydrogen sulfide supplying chamber to be circulated; microwaves generated from a plasma generating unit is supplied to the mixed gas; the molecules of the plasma generating gas is dissociated based on the electric field of the microwaves; plasma flame is generated based on plasma discharging; the syngas containing hydrogen sulfide passes through the plasma flame to decompose the hydrogen sulfide into sulfur atoms and hydrogen atoms; the decomposed hydrogen atoms are re-combined to generate hydrogen gas as combustible gas; the sulfur atoms are coagulated to be solidified; and the hydrogen gas and the solidified sulfur are separated by a cyclone and are respectively collected.
