<p>A male dovetail 16 for a bucket 10 mounted on a drum rotor 24 for a steam turbine 5 is provided by a tight hook-to-hook 18, 20 fit with the female dovetail 26 of a retaining groove 36 around the periphery of the drum rotor wheel 24. The tight hook-to-hook 18, 20 fit eliminates the use of loading pins, which heretofore have been driven between a base of the male dovetail 16 and a bottom of the retaining groove 36, a manually intensive operation with the potential to damage the bucket 10 and the drum rotor 24.</p> |
