Optically active glazing with excess voltage protection

The assembly (1) has an optically active glazing unit (2) whose optical characteristic is changed by supplying electrical power. An electrical power source (3) is connected with the optically active glazing unit by an electric circuit. The circuit includes a pair of lines (4, 5) attached to the power source. An electrical circuit arrangement is arranged in the circuit such that the arrangement connects the power source and the glazing unit below a predetermined critical voltage. The power source is separated from the glazing unit when the critical voltage is reached.
