PURPOSE: A centerline generator supporting system and a method for lifting a centerline generator from a supporting surface are provided to simplify the maintenance of a generator and to easily inspect the generator. CONSTITUTION: A generator supporting system(40) comprises a generator supporting member(44). The generator supporting member is arranged to support a generator(4) on supporting surfaces(15,16), and comprises at least one lifting element. The lifting element comprises lifting surfaces facing the supporting surfaces.
