PURPOSE: A fire extinguishing system for a vehicle is provided to immediately recognize the occurrence of a fire by a warning unit and extinguish the fire quickly because an operating unit is located in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A fire extinguishing system for a vehicle comprises a fire extinguisher(30), a heating unit, a fire sensing unit(32), and a control unit(40). The heating unit comprises a power line(37) and a heating rod which is connected to the power line to fire and burn a solid extinguishing agent. The fire sensing unit is installed in a predicted fire spot and senses heat or smoke in the event of a fire. The control unit is installed on one side of a vehicle to apply power to the power line according to the sensing signal from the fire sensing unit.
