<p>A moulded exterior capping of a vehicle (15, Figure 1) , in particular a door 11 edge capping defines a longitudinally extending channel for a resilient margin seal. The seal channel is narrowed from both sides by opposing edges 22, 27. The capping (15) provides in a unitary component a continuous channel edge 27 for the exterior side of the seal. The channel edge 22 on the interior side may be discontinuous. A method of producing the capping (15) using a two part mould having a separation plane (33, Figure 10) at the continuous edge 27 is disclosed as is a mould tool comprising first (Figure 10) and second (Figure 11) principal mould parts defining a separation plane (33) and an insert (35, Figures 10, 11) reciprocally movable in the mould along the separation plane (33). The mould defines a closed injection moulding cavity and may have a plurality of equi-spaced fingers 35 insertable into a cavity.</p> |
