<p>A method of calibrating a system for measuring high voltage currents in electrical conductors using an on-site calibration measurement. The system for measuring high voltage currents comprises an electric current measurement device (10) which comprises a housing (12) defining a first open end (14) and a second open end (16). A first sealing means (18) has an aperture and has an overall geometrical configuration corresponding to the overall geometrical configuration of the first open end. The first sealing means further comprises an aperture adapted for receiving a first optical fibre (20) to be fixated by means of a first fixture means (22). A first optical lens (24) has a reception part for receiving the first fixture means for mounting the first optical fibre in optical continuation with the first optical lens. A first polarisation filter (26) mounted in the housing in optical continuation with the first optical lens. A glass rod (28) is received in and encapsulated within the housing in optical continuation with the first polarisation filter. The glass rod is constructed from a material having magneto-optical properties. The device further comprises a second polarisation filter (30) mounted in the housing in optical continuation with the glass rod, a second optical lens (32) mounted in the housing, a second fixture means (34) for fixating a second optical fibre (38), and a second sealing means (36) for sealing the second end of the housing.</p> |
