A fastening device for securing a channelsectioned moulding to a panel or the like comprises a plate 20 formed of metal capable of being hardened by heat treatment and having a hole to receive a bolt 38, diagonally opposed rounded edges 22 and 24 and a spring clip 26 which is secured to the plate as shown or by spot welding, and which is made of metal not appreciably hardened by heat treatment. In use, the rounded edges of the plate and the free end of the clip 26 are engaged under the inturned edges 14 and 15 of the moulding as shown in Fig. 4, when the stem of the bolt 38 can be inserted through a hole in a panel and the moulding secured thereto by a nut. In a modification, the plate has an elongated slot through which the stem of the bolt 38 passes. |
