In a bicycle the steering column 18 is welded at 19 to frame members 16, 17 and mounted on a bearing member 20 which rotatably engages a substantial part of the surface of the bore of the column 18. The front wheel fork comprises a pair of members 1, 2, the upper ends of which support the handlebars 9 of the bicycle. The members 1, 2 are secured together by brackets 3, 4. The bearing member 20 is supported at its upper end on the bracket 3 by a flange 21 and is releasably secured in position by a split pin 22 extending through a flange 23 in the bracket 4 and through apertures in the member 20. Rearwardly extending triangular side plates 10, 11 are secured to the members 1, 2 and are slotted at 15 to receive the front wheel axle. The plates are cut away at 13 to receive lugs 14 which extend from each side of the bracket 4. Specification 689,864 is referred to.
