PURPOSE: A personal book lending/returning system with a smart phone and a method thereof are provided to enable a member to personally lend and return books with a per-registered member smart phone when lending and returning the books. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of books(110) are placed in a book lending area and include RFID(Radio Frequency ID) tags having book information. A smart phone(100) decodes the book information. The Smart phone transmits a lending request signal or a return request signal including the book information. The Smart phone requests the lending or the return of the books. If the lending request signal is received, a lending management server unit lifts the security of the books and performs a lending process.
