PURPOSE: A method for preventing corrosion of a mold and a mold using the same are provided to prevent the corrosion or oxidation of a mold by supplying cathodic current to the mold. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing corrosion of a mold is as follows. A power source for preventing corrosion is connected to a mold(3) through a lead wire(33). One electrode of the power source is connected to the mold while the other electrode is insulated from the mold, and DC power is supplied to a cooling medium of the mold. Cathodic current is supplied to the mold through the cooling medium flowing in a cooling pipe unit inside the mold, thereby cathodically protecting the cooling pipe of the mold.
