PURPOSE: A boiler with a damper opened and closed automatically is provided to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption by maintaining the damper closed against negative pressure. CONSTITUTION: A boiler(100) comprises a boiler body(110), a blower(130), a damper(140), a temperature sensor(150), a damper driving motor(170), and a control unit(180). The boiler body has a combustion chamber(111) in which solid fuel is burned and a flue(113) for discharging the exhaust gas from the combustion chamber. The blower is installed on one side of the boiler body and supplies air current to the combustion chamber. The damper is coupled to an end of a blow pipe(131) of the blower by a hinge and opened and closed. The temperature sensor is installed in the blower and detects the temperature of the combustion chamber. The damper driving motor opens and closes the damper. The control unit controls the damper driving motor to close the blow pipe when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is equal to or greater than a reference temperature.
