The method involves driving the revolving flat cards (7) at a cleaning roller (20) that is provided with a cleaning kit (26). The cleaning roller is rotated along a rotary motion (21) at preset speed. The movement direction of the cleaning kit of the cleaning roller is same as that of set of the revolving flat cards during normal cleaning operation. The intensive cleaning operation is performed by switching the drive of the revolving flat cards in the opposite direction (30).
