APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING CARS IN PARKING LOT USING LASER SENSOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting cars in a parking lot are provided to reduce power consumption by scanning a parking space only when a car passes after detecting the passage for cars. CONSTITUTION: A laser sensor(130) senses whether a car is parked by scanning a plurality of parking spaces along a coordinate value of the parking space. A camera unit(140) take a picture of a parked car. The camera unit includes a camera and a camera driving unit. A controller(110) controls the camera unit to take a picture of a new occupied parking space by analyzing the data sensed from the laser sensor.
