The device (1) has a bonnet formed by a rigid, three-dimensional and self-supporting external wall. The external wall of the bonnet supports pressurized water injecting nozzles, where the nozzles are located on a side of a heat exchanger in a upstream compartment (31) delimited by the external wall of the bonnet. The nozzles are connected to a pressurized water supply pipe (91). A suction turbine is arranged in a manner to allow suction of air and salt water inside the bonnet by a connection duct (8b). An independent claim is also included for an on-site cleaning and decontamination method for an air-conditioning apparatus.
