<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of image contamination caused by offset toner, by appropriately controlling an amount of feed of a cleaning web based on a paper interval. <P>SOLUTION: During printing, a running distance (per one sheet of paper) by which a fixing belt 2 and a pressure roller 4 are driven in contact with each other (without paper between them) is calculated. From the running distance X, the direct contact running distance: Y of the fixing belt 2 and pressure roller 4 for one minute is calculated. Then, from the direct contact running distance: Y for one minute, a web feed motor operation time is determined with reference to a table for an amount of feed of the cleaning web, and control is exerted. As the paper interval, that is, the distance by which the fixing belt 2 and pressure roller 4 run in direct contact with each other is longer, the web feed motor operation time is set longer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
