<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide indium tin oxide particles having high electrical conductivity and good dispersibility and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the indium tin oxide particles includes: a step of mixing indium compound particles, a tin compound and an aluminum compound in a ratio fulfilling the following formulae (1) and (2); and a step of heating a mixture obtained in the mixing step at 200-750°C in an inert gas or reducing gas atmosphere.
