A medication distribution device according to the present invention improves the accuracy and efficiency of medication distribution to individual distribution trays, and is equipped with: a tray placement unit (36) that temporarily places individual distribution trays (6) on which many cells (8) are formed; a medication container placement unit (34) that temporarily places containers (2) of medication (4); a medication transporting device (45) that introduces the medication (4) to the cells (8); and a distribution control device (19) that obtains individual medication distribution information to control the operation of the medication transporting device (45). The medication distribution device is further equipped with a transport apparatus placement unit (31) that temporarily places a medication container transport apparatus (20) capable of accommodating the medication containers (2) in multiple levels; and a medication container transporting device (30) that moves the medication containers (2) therefrom to the medication container placement unit (34). Additionally, a locking mechanism (25) that unlocks when the medication containers (2) are placed on the transport apparatus placement unit (31) is incorporated into the medication container transport apparatus (20). The medication distribution device is also equipped with a cleaning device (50) that enables the cleaning of medication-holding members (41) not mounted on the medication transporting device (45).
