The subject is an optical method for detecting deposits, in particular &bgr;-amyloid, in the retina, which is locally resolved and wherein the local resolution is better than the layer thickness of individual layers of the retina. The invention includes a device for optically detecting &bgr;-amyloid in the retina, which generates a locally resolved image of the retina and wherein the local resolution is better than the layer thickness of individual layers of the retina. |
