PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel information processing apparatus, information processing program, information processing method and information processing system.

SOLUTION: A search for another information processing apparatus and a predetermined access point is automatically performed. When a result of the search is the other portable information processing apparatus, a process of automatically performing data communication with the other information processing apparatus is performed. On the other hand, when the result of the search is the access point, a process of automatically performing data communication via the access point is performed.
