PURPOSE: A guide information providing system and a method thereof are provided to supply guide information to a tourist without purchasing an extra device. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver(450) receives provision request information for guide information according to present location information from a portable terminal. The transceiver transmits the requested guide information to the portable terminal. A controller(430) confirms the international roaming of the portable terminal. The controller confirms one or more places in a fixed boundary based on the present location information of the terminal.
