PURPOSE: A portable life jacket is provided to prevent the loss of buoyancy and to safely protect the chest of users by absorbing external impact with a buoyant material. CONSTITUTION: A portable life jacket comprises a gas supplying unit for expanding the life jacket, a pouch(10), and a launcher fixing part. The launcher fixing part attaches the gas supplying unit to an inner receiving part(12) of the pouch. The pouch folds the life jacket and the gas supplying unit in multiple stages to accommodate the receiving part in a state where the volume is reduced. A guy wire(36) connected to a gas launcher safety pin of the gas supplying unit is exposed to the outside of the pouch. A cover is deployed according to pull a handle(30) arranged in the end of the guy wire so that the life jacket can be exposed. The life jacket is expanded by injecting gas with the gas launcher.
