<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for determining the location of an electronic key in an electronic key system for determining the location of the electronic key by combination of the response thereof to an inquiry from each transmission means. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic key system confirms the combination of response of an electronic key to a request signal from an LF transmitter, thereby carrying out ID collation while determining the location of the electronic key.
