<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can improve image quality of a moving image. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a driver for driving a liquid crystal panel 102; a backlight unit 110 which divides the liquid crystal panel 102 into at least three or more regions and has a plurality of lamps 101 arranged to correspond to the divided regions, and in which lamps arranged in upper/lower end regions of the liquid crystal panel 102 among the lamps 101 are connected to each other; a first lamp driver 112 for controlling on/off times of the lamps arranged in the upper/lower end regions of the liquid crystal panel 102; a second lamp driver 114 for controlling on/off times of the lamps arranged in a region excluding the upper/lower ends of the liquid crystal panel 102; and a lamp driving controller 116 for controlling the first and second lamp drivers 112 and 114 by using signals supplied from the driver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
