<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength hot-dip galvanized steel sheet having excellent stretch-flangeability while having extremely high tensile strength, and to provide a method for production thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The hot-dip galvanized steel sheet has a chemical composition containing, by mass, >0.070% to ≤0.15% C, 0.001-0.40% Si, >2.2% to ≤3.5% Mn, ≤0.05% P, ≤0.01% S, 0.001-0.40% sol.
