<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping unit, a maintenance device, a liquid ejector, and a wiping method, in which wet wiping is adopted as wiping for an ejection surface of a liquid ejection head whereby the cleaning performance of a predetermined ejecting surface is maintained, and durability of the predetermined ejecting surface is maintained. <P>SOLUTION: The wiping unit includes a web (62) which is brought into contact with a nozzle surface (51A) of an ink jet head (41) to wipe up the liquid ejecting surface, means for moving the web to the liquid ejecting surface, a cleaning liquid spray head provided upstream of the position where the liquid ejecting surface and the web are come into contact in the transfer path of the web and spraying a cleaning liquid to the moving web, a first temperature sensor (94) and a second temperature sensor (96) for detecting unevenness of the cleaning liquid applied by the web to which the cleaning liquid is sprayed by a cleaning liquid spray head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
