<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust cover for a ball joint which does not deteriorate seal performance at a small-diameter opening and does not impair flexibility even if the ball joint has a wide-angled specification, does not cause the twist of a membrane and friction damage caused by rubbing, and can maintain favorable seal performance. <P>SOLUTION: The dust cover for the ball joint which is formed of a rubber-shaped elastic material composed of the member having a large-diameter opening which is fixedly held by an annular pressing ring at the external peripheral face of a socket of the ball joint, a small-diameter opening which is held at the axial side of the ball joint, a cylindrical part which extends toward the small-diameter part from the large-diameter part, and an umbrella-shaped part which connects the end of the cylindrical part and the small-diameter part. A plurality of ribs which radially extend to the vicinity of a connecting part between the umbrella-shaped part and the cylindrical part from the small-diameter part are equally arranged on the circumference on the surface of the umbrella-shaped part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
