Provided is a liquid-crystal display device, comprising: a frame memory (11) which stores a tone value; a data comparison unit (12) which selects either a regular correction mode or an overdrive correction mode, based on a current frame tone value and a previous frame tone value which is inputted via the frame memory (11); a first LUT (13) which, if the regular correction mode is selected, converts the present frame tone value to a first corrected tone value which corresponds to a first luminosity tone feature which is set within a luminosity region which is capable of being displayed by overdrive driving within one frame period; and a second LUT (14) which, if the overdrive correction mode is selected, converts the present frame tone value to an overdrive corrected tone value which makes it possible to display the luminosity corresponding to the first corrected tone value within one frame period.
