Provided are a liquid crystal display panel and a liquid crystal display device which have reduced threadlike defects occurring in display pixels and thus have excellent display quality. A liquid crystal display panel wherein: at least one of a pair of substrates comprises a photo-alignment film and an electrode; and a liquid crystal layer contains liquid crystal molecules that have an elastic constant (K1) for splay deformation and/or an elastic constant (K3) for bend deformation of 13 pN or more at 20°C.
