<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft tension applying device capable of applying appropriate tension to weft while suppressing consumption of air. <P>SOLUTION: A weft holding mechanism part 32 is disposed on a downstream side along a weft insertion direction for weft Y from a weft insertion path 20 of a modified reed 16. In the weft holding mechanism part 32, a tip of inserted weft Y is allowed to pass through an insertion passage 38 so that the tip of the weft Y may be held between a weft holding pin 50 and an inner face of the insertion passage 38, and an air cylinder mechanism 44 makes the weft holding pin 50 work to hold the tip of the weft Y. On the contrary, a tension applying arm 64 is fixed on a loom frame 26, and comes into contact with the weft Y between the modified reed 16 and the weft holding mechanism part 32 when the tip of the weft Y is held by the weft holding mechanism part 32 and the modified reed 16 is rocked in a beating direction, so as to apply tension to the weft Y through relative displacement from the modified reed 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
