<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can collect paper dust, created by friction between a platen and a recording sheet, effectively without affecting the printing operation. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 (image forming apparatus) includes: a conveying unit 4 configured to convey the recording sheet 10 along a conveying path 50; a head unit 3 configured to form an image on the recording sheet 10 being conveyed; the platen 43 (supporting member) arranged in a position to face the head unit 3 and configured to support the recording sheet 10 from the rear side; and a paper dust collecting mechanism 80 (aspirating means) including a paper dust collection duct 81 configured to aspirate the paper dust through one or more aspiration inlets 82, which are formed on the downstream side of the head unit 3 in a conveying direction 99 and in proximity to the downstream end of the platen 43 in the conveying direction 99 on the conveying path 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
