<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material containing plant fossils, achieving reduction of malodor and concentration of chemical substances in a room by applying the coating material containing plant fossils on the surface of indoor walls. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a safe dry mortar material using plant fossils at high rates, which prevents dew condensation, deodorizes and removes chemical substances resulting from their high moisture-absorbing and -desorbing performances, and which is inexpensive and gives safety and ease to users.
