The method involves inserting a blank into a tool mold, where the blank exhibits a hollow cross-section. An edge-side of the inserted blank is sealed in the tool mold. A pressure-assisted hot gas deformation is carried out in the blank at temperature of 550 degree Celsius. A lateral retainer and/or lateral brackets (7, 9) are formed on the blank by blowing-out the blank, where the brackets are extended in a lateral direction. The blank is formed by pushing light metal material such as aluminum, through a stamping process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an integral carrier.
