<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a test pattern to be expressly generated easily. <P>SOLUTION: A printer includes: an inkjet head which discharges an ink; a print quality-improving head which discharges a colorless clear print quality-improving liquid; a conveyance mechanism which conveys a thermosensitive paper; and a control device which controls them. The print quality-improving liquid contains an alkaline neutralizing agent which neutralizes an acidic developer contained in a thermosensitive layer of the thermosensitive paper, the concentration of the alkaline neutralizing agent being at least a concentration able to neutralize the developer in a region attached with the print quality-improving liquid, of the thermosensitive paper. The control device controls the conveyance mechanism and the print quality-improving head so that they form a test pattern by conveying the thermosensitive paper and discharging the print quality-improving liquid on the thermosensitive paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
