PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify and authenticate an individual by using electrocardiographic waveform cut out for each heartbeat from small electric signal generated by the heart.
SOLUTION: In a registration step, variation in electrocardiographic waveform is analyzed and information about the variation is stored together with the electrocardiographic waveform, and then, when a correlation coefficient is calculated in an authentication step, a calculation is conducted by lowering the level of contribution to the correlation coefficient of a sample point registered as having the largest variation among the registered waveform. Accordingly, even if there is a sample point having large variation in an electrocardiographic waveform obtained from an identical person, personal authentication can still be carried out satisfactorily without being affected by the variation by lowering the level of contribution to the correlation coefficient of the sample point with large variation.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
