<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a possibility that a vehicle enters a dangerous area even when a driver can not operate a steering properly, in a technique for detecting an erroneous operation of a gas pedal and generating a brake torque on wheels, in comparison with a conventional technique. <P>SOLUTION: An accelerator pedal erroneous operation responding apparatus, when detecting the erroneous operation of the gas pedal, generates the brake torque on either the right brake wheel or left brake wheel of the vehicle when the vehicle deviates from a safe area when generating the brake torque on both the left brake wheel and the right brake wheel at a current tire steering angle.
