<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reading without being affected by frequency fluctuation of a spread spectrum clock. <P>SOLUTION: A compound machine 1 includes: a reference white plate 81 which has a prescribed reflection factor and which is arranged adjacently to an original data acquisition region P on which an original is placed; and a reading section 30 having a length with which the original data acquisition region P and a correction data acquisition region Q can be read in a main scanning direction. The reading section 30 reads a prescribed frequency region of the original data acquisition region P and the correction data acquisition region Q by using the spread spectrum clock whose frequency changes at a prescribed period, takes in an analog signal which is read and converts it into image data of a digital signal to acquire it. A correction table in which a modulation degree and a correction coefficient are determined is stored in the reading section 30 based on an image reading the prescribed reflection factor.
