<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for microbial adhesion which is usable in both fluidized bed system and fixed bed system adopted in a catalytic oxidation method in biological treatment of waste water, is further usable in a biofiltration method, and is capable of increasing biomass. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier for microbial adhesion comprises a cylindrical body, and a peripheral wall constituting the cylindrical body is provided with a recessed part convexed toward a radial direction inner side and a projection part convexed toward a radial direction outer side continuously in a circumferential direction. The recessed part and the projection part are alternately formed at a plurality of parts each in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall.
