The invention relates to a railway control system having at least one control centre (1) which is connected to at least one subsidiary control centre (2), wherein the control centre (1) is designed to monitor operating state images which are produced in an imaging device (5) of the subsidiary control centre (2). In order to make it easier to bring about compatibility between the control centres (1) and subsidiary control centres (2) of a wide variety of designs, there is provision that the imaging device (5) is designed to produce and transmit the operating state images in the form of graphic packets and that the control centre (1) has a display device (7) for displaying the operating state images on the basis of a standardized graphic protocol.
