A device for introducing an object to be processed, equipped with: a processing object container containing an object to be processed; a processing object passage (12) through which the object to be processed can pass in an airtight manner and can be introduced from the outlet end (12a) into a processing device; a processing object extraction mechanism capable of extracting the object to be processed from the processing object container to the processing object passage (12) in an airtight manner; a closing part (14) capable of closing off the processing device side of the processing object passage (12) from the processing object container side; and a joint part (15) capable of separating and connecting the processing object passage (12) at a position within the processing object passage that is closer to the processing object container side than the closing part (14). The processing object passage (12) can be elongated and contracted such that the aforementioned outlet end approaches/moves away from the joining position of the joint part (15) while the joining position is maintained.
